Our settings

At our Midlands sites, you can choose from either a woodland or wildflower meadow setting. Our site in County Durham is an established woodland. Wildflower meadow burials take place all year round. Woodland burials are also year-round, except for tree planting and burial of ashes at our Midlands sites, which take place between November and February.

Woodland

Woodland burials involve entwining legacy with nature through planting a tree (at our Midlands sites) or being buried beneath an established tree (at our Blue House sites) as a lasting memorial. Our woodlands are peaceful places to visit, and it’s lovely seeing the trees inch taller over time. Adjacent plots aren’t possible within our growing woodlands at our Midlands sites due to growing and changing tree roots, but are able to be reserved at our Blue House site within the mature woodland.

Wildflower Meadow

Wildflower meadows are home to vital insects and other pollinators like butterflies and our increasingly endangered bees. We place plaques instead of trees in these colourful, changing spaces. Adjacent plots are possible here. Please note we are unable to offer meadow burial or interment at our site in County Durham.

What to expect when visiting Tithe Green Ketton

From the car park, you’ll have no trouble finding your way into our main site. You don’t have to be visiting a grave or memorial to spend time with us. Everyone – including dogs on leads! – is always welcome to just walk around and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

With woodland and wildflower meadows to explore, it’s a fantastic place to visit, and we see many people who just come for a morning or afternoon walk.

Most of the time, you shouldn’t have too many problems finding your way around the site. However, if you’re visiting us during winter or soon after heavy rain, it might be a good idea to bring boots or a spare pair of shoes, because it can get muddy.

It’s always worth keeping your eyes peeled when you visit, because you never know what wildlife you might see. We get lots of insects, including vital pollinators like butterflies and bees, as well as a wide variety of birds – including birds of prey, who are probably on the lookout for the small mammals we also attract!
