T-Shirt Weather = Bee Season

The sun’s out and the optimists at Tithe Green are calling it: Summer has arrived! For our resident beekeeper Alison Knox, that means one thing—the bees are back. We held off mowing the lawns in May (No Mow May) to give the bees their perfect playground, and early hive checks are promising. The Queen is in good health and we’re expecting a bumper honey crop. Grab a jar at our next planting day!

More Than a Beekeeper

You may also know Alison in a very different role—as a celebrant.
“I work between the all and the nothing,” she says—between a full religious service and a secular, humanist one. Her ceremonies are bespoke, shaped by the wishes of family and friends. Frank Sinatra might follow All Things Bright and Beautiful—whatever fits best.

By spending time with the families, Alison builds a true picture of the person who’s passed. “You can see it on the grandchildren’s faces when they hear their names in the ceremony—it counts.”

Meet the People of Tithe Green

We’re lucky to work with some extraordinary people here at Tithe Green. Over the coming months, we’ll be introducing them to you—sharing the stories behind the roles, helping to have honest conversations around death.
