Woodland

Woodland burials involve entwining legacy with nature through planting a tree (at our Midlands sites) or being buried beneath an established tree (at our Blue House sites) as a lasting memorial. Our woodlands are peaceful places to visit, and it’s lovely seeing the trees inch taller over time. Adjacent plots aren’t possible within our growing woodlands at our Midlands sites due to growing and changing tree roots, but are able to be reserved at our Blue House site within the mature woodland.

Meet Your Blue House Site Manager

Andrew McQuade is our site manager, responsible for upholding the Tithe Green ethos at our Blue House natural burial site; ensuring the land is free to flourish naturally, carrying out general maintenance, and meeting families. If you see him on site, feel free to say hello!

What to expect when visiting Tithe Green Blue House

When you arrive, the car park leads straight onto our main pathway between the trees. You'll see woodland to either side and ahead of you. You're welcome to walk through the woodland, but we recommend sticking to the main pathways. If you follow the main pathway, you'll reach a crossroads surrounded by oaks and pines.

You’re welcome to spend as much time as you want or need, whether you’re visiting a loved one or you just want to take a walk in the beautiful surroundings. Dogs on leads are also always welcome!

We maintain flat grass pathways, however if you are visiting us during winter or soon after heavy rain, you may need to bring some boots or a spare pair of shoes as it can get muddy.

We will be making essential updates to the site such as extending the car park and creating a more accessible pathway for hearses. Eventually we will add a service building for families to use before or after a service, as well as providing a place for community events and gatherings. We always aim to keep disruption to a minimum but do bear with us.
