Our upcoming community events

Grief can be incredibly isolating. It can cause us to turn away from the things we once found joyful - nature, creating, and socialising with others. Whilst we can never take away people's pain, we can do our bit to create spaces and opportunities for quiet relief and moments of peace.

We host regular events with our community - an opportunity to gather and spend time in nature at our beautiful natural burial grounds. From book readings by grief authors to talks by sustainability experts, craft workshops, and gentle reflective walks; our events are designed to create space for grief, connection, life and remembrance to coexist.

Everyone is welcome at our community events, whether or not they have visited Tithe Green before. To stay up to date with new events, follow us on Eventbrite, sign up to our newsletter, or join our Facebook Community Group for early ticket access.

We always aim to keep our events free or ticket prices low enough to cover the cost of hosting - we never seek to make a profit from our events.

Community Planting Days & Meet The Beekeeper

Every year, we invite the Tithe Green community to their local site to spend time in the beautiful grounds, meet others in the community, and plant some wildflowers. It's a chance to gather together and make our shared space even more beautiful.

This year, we're particularly excited to host our first planting day at our Blue House woodland burial site in County Durham, which joined the Tithe Green family this year. It's a great opportunity to explore if you've been curious about natural burial, or meet the team and ask any questions you might have about the new stewardship.

Our friends at Naturescape will be providing a selection of approved native plants and wildflowers for us to plant freely around the site. Bring your family, your friends, children and grandchildren - if you have a loved one resting at one of our sites, it's a beautiful way to tend to their plot and honour them. If you don't - perhaps you are a nature lover keen to get more involved with the local community - you are warmly invited, too.

At our Markfield and Oxton sites, we will be joined by our site bee keepers for an informal, family-friendly talk about bee keeping: how it works, interesting facts you may not know, and why it's so important.

Dates for your diary:

Ketton: Saturday 3rd October
Oxton: Saturday 10th October
Markfield: Saturday 17th October
Blue House: Saturday 24th October

This is a free drop-in event, but if you are able to confirm your attendance to help us manage expected numbers, you can do so at the buttons above.

Please remember we are a cash-only site. Refreshments will be available. Please note our Markfield site has toilet facilities, but our Ketton, Oxton and Blue House sites do not.
