A woodland burial plot from Tithe Green offers you the chance for a cost-effective and environmentally-friendly burial that will help preserve some of our precious local natural heritage, while also allowing those who have lost a special friend or family member to remember them in a beautiful location for years to come. Our sites are situated in stunning East Midlands locations close to Nottingham, Leicester and Peterborough.

All our burial plot purchases come with a memorial plaque carved from Welsh slate, and a commemorative memorial tree. As a single tree can absorb up to 40kg a year in CO2, that means your burial will be making a vital contribution in the fight against climate change.

We can only have biodegradable caskets at our natural burial site, and have listed several providers in our Useful Resources section.

Please note that this burial option is for immediate use and is not available for advance purchase. For more information on our advance purchase plots, please {click here}. The plot may be purchased at any time but the tree planting takes place between November and February each year, as this gives the tree the best start in life.

What kind of coffin can be used at a woodland natural burial plot?

At Tithe Green, we only accept the use of 100% biodegradable coffins and caskets so that none of the toxins, chemicals and non-biodegradable elements often found in a traditional coffin can enter our protected landscape. Even better, these options are often cheaper than those traditional alternatives.
