Are only certain coffins and urns used with natural burial?

Only 100% biodegradable urns and coffins can be used at Tithe Green’s natural burial sites. You can order these through our site here, or we’ve also listed some recommended suppliers here. After a cremation, ashes are placed in a biobox – these are fully biodegradable, so are also safe to use at our natural burial sites.

What are biodegradable urns made from?

Our urns are made from British wool or willow, but other suppliers offer urns made from things like bamboo, cardboard and pandanus.

It depends on the material used to make them, but it can be anywhere from a few months to a few years.

No, urns must be sent to a home address.
